Apple and the three ideas of extreme innovations

Smart phones are evolving into extensions of our selves. The more advances made in this regard continue making our cell phones increasingly important parts of our lives. They contain our memories-photos and videos, our favorite songs, our contacts- family members, friends and colleagues and most of the things that we use to define ourselves are contained within these digital creatures. Naturally, the kind of personal information your smart phone carries you would not want it to be shared with anyone else. Similarly for enterprise users, who are already moving towards iOS rather than Android due to security concerns, the great risk lies in losing BYOD devices through which a perpetrator can gain access to a host of corporate data and threaten even the most confidential information confined within the company’s network. These threats are besides the normal mobile spy apps, cell phone monitoring tools and other malware often concealed within third party applications.

Biometric solutions

In these circumstances the need for better security systems becomes apparent and clearly mobile device manufactures are driven to introduce biometric identification technology. Considering the fact that AuthenTec is a security firm, known for creating mobile security solutions including fingerprint recognition, just bought out by Apple it is not farfetched to expect that in the not-so-distant future your smart phone might not work without scanning your fingers.  However, we have all seen those spy movies in which villains often cut authorized person’s fingers to use their fingerprints and the same can be done by actual criminals calling for other measures as well. Therefore, vendors will require multi-faceted security protocols like PIN codes, retina scans, face recognition, etc. Goode Intelligence today also agrees with the case in point asserting that biometric security will become from an interesting concept to a necessity for all smart phones by the year 2015.

Wireless Recharging

It’s a matter of speculations as of now but the tech world continuously hears murmurs regarding wireless/inductive device charging. Technophiles are therefore wondering whether or not the new iPhone will have this feature. If it were to have such a feature iPads and Macs would also follow the lead. What we can ascertain here is that Apple is exploring these new avenues and only last month it was granted a patent equipping a docking station with inductive charging circuits and a reradiating antenna. So the speculation that follows in this case points in the direction that an iPhone will only work when asked by you and in order to recharge you will just need to drop it down near the dock in the house.

Google or Apple Glass

We’re all familiar with the hype that Google Glass project has received but Apple has also been working to develop its advanced video eyeglass display for quite some time now. According to Patently Apple, the company filed a patent request recently for tech that gives Retina Display quality video to such glasses along with lower power requirement. The implications of this stretch way beyond movies and gaming but put forth the possibilities of enhanced augmented reality, from interactive guides to 3D mapping solutions that put a virtual layer on top of your actual environment.
Well if you feel bewildered by these speculations like it’s a discussion about some tech from the future or a sci-fi movie, so am I. Such solutions might not be released, in all likelihood, alongside iPhone 5 but with the kind of advances Apple has been committed to bring, it might take some time to introduce such innovations but we all know a giant like Apple is very much capable of bringing forth such creations.
