If you followed our guide to get root permissions, or you have installed an unofficial ROM on your Samsung Galaxy S4 and now you want to restore your smartphone to its original state, this is the guide for you. I will explain it step by step, how to install the official firmware released by Samsung. The guide is intended for owners of the Samsung Galaxy S4 version i9500 and I9505 (to check the version of your smartphone will just go to Settings -> About phone -> model number ). NOTE:using this guide all the data on your phone will be deleted, so it is advisable to backup your entire phone.
- The first step to perform is to download the official firmware of the Galaxy S4
- In terms of the download extract the firmware you downloaded previously to obtain a file with the extension . tar.md5
- Now download and install the application on Samsung Kies via this link and then download the application ODIN via this link
- Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S4 off and on again while pressing the Volume Down + Home + Power until you see a screen that will warn you of the risks they incur by installing a firmware on your phone. Date confirmed by pressing the Volume Up
- Unzip the application ODIN downloaded earlier and start it. At this point, make sure you only select items Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time . No other entry must be selected
- On the right select button PDA and from the dialog that appears, look for the file with the extension . tar.md5 previously downloaded
- At this point you can connect your smartphone to your PC. Wait for ODINrecognizes it (you'll know why in the first box at the top left item appears ID: COM 6
- Now we have to select the button Start and wait for the installation to complete.
After the procedure you will end up with the original operating system on your Samsung Galaxy S4. If the device does not turn on, proceed as follows:
- Turn off your smartphone and turn it on by pressing the Volume Up + Home +Power
- With the volume keys move the item Factory Reset and select it with the power button
The next reboot will be a bit 'long, but you'll end up with a fully functioning device.
