Buying a New House?-Get to Know Your Builder

Construction companies live and breathe by reviews. Most of their business comes through word of mouth marketing, so it’s important that construction companies do the best job possible and please the customer so that they earn good reviews.
But today, construction companies can no longer only worry about the impact of word of mouth marketing. Today, customers are taking their experiences to online review sites like Angie's List or CitySearch, and construction companies are now gaining or losing business based on what is being said on these sites.
For this reason, it’s important that construction companies monitor what is being said about their business on these sites. Tracking what’s being said about your company online has great benefits.

Gain feedback.

People are often hesitant to let contractors know if they are happy or unhappy about their work, but they don’t mind discussing their feelings online. When you track reviews online, you can learn what your customers have to say about your business and see your strengths and weaknesses. If you notice a few reviews that discuss how you were late, you know to put a stronger emphasis on being on time.

Fix complaints.

It’s possible that you’ll have a negative review online, and if you don’t track reviews, you will not know about it. If a negative review sits online for a long time without a response, it will only make the customer’s frustrations grow. When you have negative reviews online, you need to reach out to the customer, apologize for their experience and offer to make it right. Not only will this make the customer happy, but it will show other reviewers that you took the time to fix the situation.

Keep happy customers happy.

Tracking reviews also allows you to learn which customers are happy. If you notice a positive review, it’s a good idea to reach out to the customer and thank them for the nice gesture. You can either leave it as a simple thank you, or offer them a token of your appreciation by giving them a discount on their next project or giving their friends and family a discount if they refer you to them. Doing this will please the customer and entice them to think of you and market your business to people they know.

Learn where to market.

Chances are that you have additional marketing methods besides word of mouth. When you track online review sites, you are given analytics that tell you how people are locating your company page on review sites, what they’re doing while there and how long they’re staying. This can help you learn where to market your business and who you should be marketing it to. For example, if you notice that a large amount of your traffic to these sites is coming from Google, you may want to consider investing in Google AdWords, since most of your traffic is being generated through the search engine.
As a construction company, your reputation is extremely important. A great way to ensure that your reputation earns you a large amount of business is to track what’s being said about you. When you do this, your business will start to flourish.
