Google Page Rank – A Beginners Guide
Toolbar Pagerank and Pagerank are two different, unsynchronised measurements based on the number and quality of links that pass pagerank to a particular page. Toolbar Pagerank is a ‘simplification of REAL PAGERANK – which is important – and ONE of the ways Google does what it does ranking pages. It is NOT the be and end all of ranking high in Google.

I’ve theorised Toolbar Grey Pages do not pass pagerank to external sites, and may be an indication Google has an issue with the page – but that could just be a red herring, too.

The most common reason for a drop in Toolbar Pagerank is simply your website is receiving less Pagerank via the links it has pointing to it from other sites. This could be because the pages those links on them have less PR to give, the links themselves have disappeared and no linger point to your site, or Google has in fact changed the way Pagerank works.

I haven’t followed it as much as I have in the past. I have been busy working on projects and I had a few set backs that I am trying to get squared away. Once I get caught up I will have more time for Google, SEO, and other online time.
I hope Google was nice to you this time around, and gave your site a little bump in the toolbar meter.
